A recipe that evokes summer and conviviality: grilled hamburger with burrata, sun-dried tomatoes and red onion with basil is a harmonious combination of intense Mediterranean flavors and pleasant freshness.
A simple yet refined dish, with a delicious and light balance, perfect for early evenings outdoors.
Ingredients for 2 hamburgers
- 400 g ground beef
- 2 medium Tropea red onions
- 150 g burrata
- a handful of sun-dried tomatoes in oil
- fresh basil leaves to taste
- extra virgin olive oil to taste
- a knob of butter
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Preparation
Thinly slice the onions and let them soften in a non-stick pan with a drizzle of oil and a pinch of salt. Add a handful of fresh basil leaves and cook over low heat, adding a splash of water occasionally, for about 7–8 minutes. At the end, finish with a few more basil leaves, a small knob of butter, and freshly ground pepper. Let it flavor for one minute, then turn off the heat.
Meanwhile, shape the burgers using a ring mold to obtain a regular shape, adding a pinch of pepper. Cook on a grill or in a well-heated pan with a drizzle of oil, for about 3 minutes per side, until a golden crust forms.
Serve the burgers hot, topping them with burrata and basil onions. Finish with sun-dried tomatoes and fresh basil leaves.
Serve with toasted bread if desired.
Enjoy your meal!
